Stellinghof

The design for this court is a hamlet! In the design, a new "hamlet" or township is created in the polder in a contemporary way, which fits in with the existing village character and forms a transition between the old village Vijfhuizen and the new modern Stellinghof district.
The houses are situated as separate buildings in a green field with as much transparency as possible between the houses. The northern building is located at the village park on the transition between old and new Vijfhuizen. The nine abstractly detailed houses with large windows, masonry chimneys and a broad masonry fascia are both individual buildings and part of the hamlet due to their subdivision and materialization.
Industrial designer Peter van der Jagt has designed a clock especially for the building at the heart of the village. The rise and fall of the lifts in two apartment buildings in the reclaimed Haarlemmermeer inspired Rozalie Hirs to write 'lift poems'. A text fragment has been blasted into the glass on the glass elevator doors on each floor. Moving both up and down, these fragments form a poem.
