BioSintrum
Description
Het stervormig gebouw van BioSintrum in Oosterwolde in Noord-Nederland herbergt een publiek informatiecentrum over de Biobased-economie. Zowel kantoren als educatieve voorzieningen zijn binnen, evenals een groot auditorium. De structuur van het gebouw is volledig in hout. Van de aanvankelijke ambitie om het hele gebouw in biobased materiaal te realiseren, is uiteindelijk 80% geslaagd. Naast hout wordt kleihennepkat, biokunststof en vlasisolatie gebruikt.

The star shaped building of BioSintrum in Oosterwolde in the North of The Netherlands accommodates a public information center about the Biobased-economy. Both offices and educational facilities are inside, as well as a large auditorium. The structure of the building is completely in timber. Of the initial ambition to realize the entire building in biobased material , eventually 80% succeeded. Besides timber, clay hemp-crete, bioplastics and flax insulation is used.
