DNK (De Nieuwe Kolk)

De Nieuwe Kolk consists of a two-storey underground car park with a large number of cultural facilities above it. A theatre with a fly tower and two separate stages, a cinema (including four underground theatres), the public library, Biblionet and the Centre for the Visual Arts (CBK). The complex also contains apartments, commercial space, office space and food service amenities. De Nieuwe Kolk is sustainable, energy-efficient and constructed using sustainable materials, and features tall spaces and lots of daylight. The key to the building is openness and the logical connection between all the services via the Cultuurportaal.
