General
Het plein was al jaren een wat onduidelijke ruimte met aan de zuidkant een hele rij winkelpaviljoentjes, die eigenlijk waren bedoeld voor tijdelijk gebruik. Fuksas kreeg de opdracht het plein opnieuw vorm te geven en eronder een fietsenkelder te realiseren. Dit kan in feite echter niet los worden gezien van het gebied 'Rond de Admirant' dat net om de hoek is gelegen. Het plein wordt nu aan de beide uiteinden in beperkte mate afgesloten door de beide blobs.
