Basisschool De Vlinder is een opvallende verschijning in het Groningse Ter Apel. Het gebouw is een variatie op het traditionele schoolgebouw met lokalen aan weerszijden van een centrale gang. Met zijn ronde vormen en een vrolijk, natuurlijk kleurenpalet, biedt de school een omgeving die tegemoet komt aan de beleving van het kind. De Vlinder geldt bovendien als ‘schoolvoorbeeld’ van een duurzame, frisse school.
