Brug Vijfhuizen

General

These bridges can be found in the new residential area in Vijfhuizen. They are simply designed by means of wood and concrete abutments, they seek to connect with the buildings, the fencing, the public space and the polder. The railing consists of a wooden truss that creates the span. The rafter is covered with wooden planks. The concrete abutments are provided with a profile of wood, such as the handrail. The concrete has the same shade and texture as the aged wood. The concrete abutments ensure that the wood does not touch the ground and water (durable) and gives the bridge sturdy “knee pads” on the short sides.

The two new bridges fit in nicely with the housing plan designed by M3H
