Vanwege de slechte bodem, verzakkingen en slijtage was de openbare ruimte van de jaren zestig buurt aan een complete herziening toe. In nauw overleg met de buurtbewoners is een ontwerp gemaakt voor de herinrichting van de buurt. Dat heeft geleid tot een nieuwe opzet van de buitenruimte, met uitbreiding van het aantal parkeerplaatsen, meer water en meer speel- en verblijfsruimte.
