Hoewel het werd genomineerd voor de Dirk Roosenburg architectuurprijs, riep dit plan bij de jury destijds dubbele gevoelens op. Enerzijds was daar de sympathie voor het conceptueel heldere plan van de architect. Daarnaast is er dat magische avondbeeld als de glazen zijgevels opgloeien in het donker. Ook de positieve impuls voor dit straatje werd onderkend. Anderzijds werd ook gewezen op brute de detaillering en de schaal van het plan.
