30 woningen, Son en Breugel

When the highway A50 was constructed, the old provincial road through Son en Breugel became a forest lane. The valuable trees and hilly terrain made the demand for houses complex. In 2003 the municipality has chosen for a simple allotment concept by Kemme and Kalliste based on the image quality plan of Buro Lubbers. With an ‘avoidance model’ trees are spared and the buildings respond to the context. Ultimately, 30 homes in 5 types and more than 40 variants were designed in collaboration with Hilberink Bosch and Joep Mol.

The buyers could choose their architect and brick color. With help of an interactive selection program every house could be different and the end result was not exactly know beforehand. Ultimately an unique skyline was created and the forest remained clearly visible in the street scene. That immediately gave the new housing project great quality.
