Description
DuPont Industrial Biosciences is a global leader in industrial biotechnology for which Ector Hoogstad Architecten designed the new European Headquarters in Leiden. The multidisciplinary building with state-of-the-art Biotechnology laboratories and offices revolves around the development of enzyme technology. The three-storey building on a plinth with a parking garage, consists of two flexible wings connected by a facility cluster. Transparency and daylight are important aspects of the design, which is clearly visible in the trapezoidal atrium at the heart of the building. The building will be a sustainable and healthy working environment and if will be delivered with a BREEAM Excellent Certificate.
