Elleboogkerk
Description
The Elleboogkerk (literally 'Elbow Church') is a national listed building that formerly served as a museum. Following a fire in 2007, it was decided to restore the shell of the building. The most important requirement of the client when rebuilding the roof of the church was that the space below should be free to be configured by the user. By giving the roof a free span of over 46 meters, this requirement was met in full.
Adviesbureau Lüning
The span was achieved by means of a beautifully designed 3-dimensional lattice. The threaded rods in the beams were specially designed for the project and tested by Eindhoven University of Technology.
