Huisvesting Turkse ouderen

The apartments in this building are intended for a special group of occupants, elderly people of Turkish descent. Within the fabric of Dutch society, these people form a uniquely close-knit group, though certainly not remote from the world around them. This has been translated into the shape and structure of the building, wrapped as it is in a brick surround that matches its environment. The steps up to the terrace lead to the world inside, with its light and colors that exude the warmth of the Mediterranean. It's an invitation to step into a special world.

De appartementen in dit gebouw hebben bijzondere bewoners; ze zijn bestemd voor Turkse ouderen. Binnen de Nederlandse samenleving heeft deze groep een eigen manier van samenleven, betrokken op elkaar, maar zeker niet vreemd van de wereld om zich heen. Dit gegeven is vertaald in de vorm en materialisering van het gebouw: door een omhullende schil van metselwerk voegt het zich in de omgeving. De trap naar het terras leidt naar de wereld daarbinnen, die door middel van kleur en lichtheid een warme, mediterrane sfeer uitstraalt. Een toegang voor iedereen naar een bijzondere binnenwereld.
